Why do you need one?
The menopause is a topic that we are now seeing being discussed in public arenas more than ever before and the subject is, rightly, becoming less of a taboo. However, a recent survey commissioned by the Women and Equalities Committee found that nearly a third of women miss work due to menopause symptoms and that the vast majority don’t ask for support, mainly because of concerns about how others may react.

As awareness of this issue increases, it is important that employers create a culture where staff feel they can request, and will get, support with any menopause related issues they are facing. A failure to deal with such requests appropriately or at all could result in you losing valuable employees and see you facing tribunal claims for sex, age or disability discrimination.

We have been working with our clients on this issue for some time and were asked to give evidence in Parliament as part of the WEC Investigation into menopause in the workplace. As a result, we are ideally placed to support employers with educating their workforce and addressing this issue in the workplace.

What is it?
Whilst a policy is an important starting point and a key document to have, it is important to go beyond that if you want to ensure that staff feel comfortable in discussing any menopause related issues and that your managers have the confidence to respond appropriately and sensitively to any issues raised. Pannone Corporate’s Menopause Toolkit is a package of materials and legal support that will ensure your business and staff are well prepared to have these discussions and provide meaningful support to staff managing symptoms of the menopause. We appreciate that one size does not fit all and so we will work with you to ensure that the materials in the Toolkit are right for your business.

What we offer
Initial assessment questionnaire – we will ask you to complete a short questionnaire about your current policies and practices, which will help us tailor the Toolkit to your requirements.

Policy – drafting of a menopause policy which reflects your business and its needs, including reference to other policies or support available where appropriate

Guidance for managers – material to support managers and provide information about ways they can consider assisting employees who are managing symptoms, including FAQs, suggested adjustments to offer, and tips on how to discuss the issue with colleagues looking for support

Training and launch – we will deliver a 1 hour training session, on site or remotely as appropriate, for your managers/staff which will be an opportunity to launch the policy and provide training on how to put the principles of the policy into practice.

Review – we will arrange a meeting with you for around 6 months after the launch, to see how things are going and to address any queries or issues you may have about the policy or its roll out.

What does it cost?
For all the elements of the Toolkit we can offer a fixed fee of £1,500 + VAT.

However, if you feel your business does not need the full Toolkit, we can produce a standalone menopause policy for a fixed fee of £500 + VAT.
