Recruitment Disputes Courses

Our dispute resolution and litigation team is among the largest in the city. The team advises clients on litigation, arbitration and mediation processes. We act for a wide range of clients across a range of sectors including retail, manufacturing, technology, professional services and hospitality amongst others.

Our team is experienced in advising clients in relation to the following types of disputes; construction and engineering claims, contractual issues, international arbitration, anti trust claims, product liability, real estate litigation, intellectual property and information technology litigation, contested trust and probate claims, commercial fraud, shareholder disputes, restrictive covenant and breach of confidence claims and professional negligence.

While we have many years of trial experience and are well equipped to move quickly when required, for example injunctions form a large part of what we do, many of our clients prefer to engage in mediation as they understand the benefits it can bring to a dispute. We have won national awards for our use of mediation. Clients such as Boohoo.com and Iceland Frozen Foods trust us to resolve their disputes.

Many of our team are listed as experts or leading individuals by either Legal 500 or Chambers and Partners. We pride ourselves on our tenacity and commitment to resolving the dispute to the client’s objectives. At the outset of a dispute we will analyse the issues and agree with our client the optimal outcome together with a strategy aimed at achieving that outcome.

Members of the team are experienced speakers and we have spoken on a range of practical issues to a wide variety of clients.

Recruitment sector – maximising recovery of fees

The recruitment industry is fast moving and requires consultants to act quickly to secure new clients and in order to place candidates. This means that, invariably, there will be times when queries arise over fees charged to end clients, particularly in relation to the issue of ‘back-door’ hires, fees arising for temp to perm placements, or where it is alleged an alternative recruiter has introduced the candidate.
